This was THE best divorce book of all the ones I read. The first time I read it, I cried through the whole thing because their stories sounded just like mine. Their words of encouragement meet you where you’re at and give you hope, they help you see yourself as God sees you and show you how to pick up the pieces and give them to God so that He can create something beautiful from the ashes. I highly recommend this to any woman who has gone through a divorce due to an unfaithful husband. You’re not alone. Even though it might feel like your whole world is destroyed, there are others who have been there before you and we’re finding healing and a new life ahead. Keep your eyes on God…there you’ll find peace.

An excellent book. It is like a warm hug from 2 wonderful women who truly understand what I am going through at this difficult time in my life. To read their stories and see how far they have both come is reassurance that I too can survive and in fact become a better stronger person myself through all this. Thank you Kari & Noelle for sharing your life stories and wonderful advice… help and hope. I’ve read it through a several times already and I’m sure I’ll refer back to it many times on this journey to recovery.

Ten weeks into the newly abandoned state, and I have read and reread this book several times. The title grabbed me, as it was exactly the question to which I wanted to know the answer: What happens when he leaves?
Written from the viewpoint of a long-term marriage breakdown and infidelity, this book was equally helpful for me (3 weeks shy of our 4th wedding anniversary) with no explanations or discussion.
When “he” picks up and leaves, Kari and Noelle (who it is now my life’s goal to meet and thank) help you through the agony, shock, rage, murderous thoughts, shame and despair. And seashells will never look the same again.

This is an orderly journey through the emotions divorce produces viewed through the eyes of two Christian women who have survived the process. They share their experiences along with what helped them through the painful process of leaving the loss and pain behind and finding a new life for themselves. In spite of the necessarily painful histories of each, the book left me with an uplifted spirit, full of hope and confidence that my best is yet to come. I certainly am not going to sit and wait for it, but get back on my feet and go out to meet it. Thank you to both of the authors for a book that I will use as a positive reference and reminder that I too, will conquer and not yield to negative forces.
